Arsenic Reduction

Reduce harmful contaminants from your water with an efficient, effective home water system from your local water experts at Shiloh Water Systems.

Arsenic is a common water issue in Oregon. However, it can be easily and affordably reduced with an under-sink filter from Shiloh Water Systems or a whole home reduction solution.

The most important part of ensuring your water is safe to drink is a water test. From there, the proper equipment can be recommended and installed professionally. Much like your car needs ongoing filter changes and maintenance, so does your water treatment equipment. At Shiloh Water Systems, we can help with these pieces, ensuring peace of mind and great quality water.

According to the CDC, “Arsenic can enter the water supply from natural deposits in the earth or from industrial and agricultural pollution. It is widely believed that naturally occurring arsenic dissolves out of certain rock formations when groundwater levels drop significantly. Some industries in the United States release thousands of pounds of arsenic into the environment every year.

Once released, arsenic remains in the environment for a long time. Arsenic is removed from the air by rain, snow, and gradual settling. Once on the ground or in surface water, arsenic can slowly enter groundwater. High arsenic levels in private wells may come from certain arsenic-containing fertilizers used in the past or industrial waste. It may also indicate improper well construction or overuse of chemical fertilizers or herbicides in the past.”

I had to have a water heater replaced and the gentleman that did it couldn’t figure out how to turn the water off even though I kept telling him I just had to turn the pump off since I’m on a well. Long story short he finally got the water heater in, but when the water got turned back on, there was no water coming into the house. He went out and was looking at the filtration system and started turning knobs and all kinds of stuff. I told him to stop and I called Shiloh as they’re the ones that installed the system. Rian came out and immediately discovered what the problem was and got the water working correctly. My system was 15 years old. It was full of sediment and frankly was not working or doing anything to filter the well water. We talked about it, and it was very clear that the system that I had was no longer working and not providing any filtration to the house. I agreed it was time to replace it. He came out today and completed the work quickly efficiently did an excellent job. Great work and was very informative on how everything worked. Thank you Rian for all your help and getting the filtration of my water back to working order.
