Our modern lifestyles encourage busy schedules. We all want to be able to work hard, spend time with our loved ones, pursue our interests and keep our homes clean with time to spare. Unfortunately, there are only 24 hours in a day. We understand how hard it can be to balance everything we need to get done with keeping a tidy house, so here are a few easy ways to keep your house clean and make your life a little easier.

1. Install A Central Vacuum
Most of us vacuum our houses with the standard movable machine, but central vacuum systems are becoming more popular in modern homes. Installing a central vacuum system has a lot of benefits – it can cost less than a high-end movable vacuum and also add around $2,000 to your home’s resale value. Due to the fact that there are several inlets located all over your home, you’ll only need to carry a lightweight hose and power brush unit around the house when you’re cleaning. This helps save you time and space, making central vacuum systems extra convenient.

2.Change Your Air Filters
You’re probably thinking, “I don’t think I have air filters”, but if your home is equipped with a heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) unit, then you do. And they need to be cleaned regularly in order for your HVAC to function effectively and your house to stay clean. An air filter traps airborne particles that get sucked in with the air and helps to keep dust from building up in your ducts, or being blown into other rooms in your house. Many filters also remove microscopic particles like dust, pollen, pet dander, bacteria, plant and mold spores, and even smoke, from the air in your home. A clogged and dirty filter is not just unhygienic, it can drive up your heating and cooling bills by forcing your HVAC to work harder to pull in air.

3. Invest In Water Filters
No matter where it comes from, whether it be a municipal water supply or a well, you always want your water to be clean, clear and taste good. Dirty or hard water doesn’t just taste bad, it ruins your pipes, fixtures and appliances due to the residue and build-up of chemicals. Installing a whole house filtration system not only keeps your water clean, but your dishes, showers and baths too, which will save you time and money in the long term.

4. Take Your Shoes Off
Removing your dirty shoes before you walk into your home is a great way to prevent unwanted dirt and mud being tracked through your house, especially if you have carpets. When people are barefoot, they are far less likely to stain or damage your flooring with dirt and water from the outside.

5. Switch to Hardwood Flooring
Hardwood floors look really elegant and modern, but are also much easier to clean. You won’t have to worry about stains and odors and vacuuming the same way you would with carpets, and they’re also much more pet friendly. Regular sweeping with the occasional polish every few years, is all you need to keep them in good condition.
